In her recent Spotify hit “Make Me …,” Britney Spears remakes the Carpenters’ 1965 song “Close to You” and rewrites the lyrics to become a version of herself singing about her boyfriend. Mr. Asghari’s connection to Ms. Spears — he’s been by her side for four years — is not difficult to connect. He popped up as Ms. Spears’s hot backup dancer last summer on the set of her hit “Slumber Party,” and he’s become a regular — despite their long distance relationship. “I have the best fans in the world. Thank you so much,” she said at her first London gig in eight years.
According to the Daily Mail, Ms. Spears plans to make Mr. Asghari Mr. Spears’s “usual groomsman” at his wedding. He’s never been the man in the spotlight — more in a supporting role. In high school, Mr. Asghari moved to Los Angeles after watching Ms. Spears perform with a group of fans, and at 18 he shot a music video for his catchy pop rock song “Boomerang” with MTV, but he hasn’t been a true hit on his own.
A well-known male model in Japan, Mr. Asghari’s last modeling gig was last September with the upcoming Japanese movie “On the Right Track,” according to his Twitter. His last post was on July 10, with the hashtag, “For real!!!… where’s my plane?!” — if this is true, it’s a long way from L.A. Mr. Asghari, known by his online nickname @hindoe_sama, also does stand-up comedy, and appeared on the Comedy Central Japan’s show, “Anime Guhullari.”
