This law must be changed! Stop abusing the law!

We are all aware of the terrible crimes alleged in the Alexandria, VA shooting of Walter Scott. However, neither of the main defendants was ever able to make it to trial in order to prove their claims for self-defense. The case ended up in a non-jury jury trial which allowed the District Attorney to prove “beyond a reasonable doubt” that Walter Scott was a bad guy, but it took a great deal of time and $95 million to prove that he was a bad guy, period. Was that right or not? A simple trial that would have allowed Scott and his family the opportunity to have their day in court to prove their case could have save the people millions of dollars in legal fees.

Some might even accuse this law and prosecution of blatant bias toward white people while ignoring black Americans. A simple trial, by a judge, and all their costs mitigated, would have thrown cold water on the entire case. Instead we are left with a trial that is years behind schedule that cost over $100 million dollars, and complete vindication of the District Attorney.

Watching this is a little comical. We’re meant to think that the District Attorney did not waste his time and money, that he was only trying to make sure that the charges were filed against Scott. Well, if that is the case then we should just try the case, and end it. There is no reason for him to charge us a million dollars to never charge us even though the case was thrown out. If he has any integrity he would file charges against Scott and not waste anyone’s time through this faux trial because of some bogus ruling by a judge.

We all know that the punishment for being a bad guy should not involve years and millions of dollars of what can only be called frivolous legal fees.

What is going on? Was all this avoided if Scott just said that he “gave it everything” and was going to use whatever means necessary to get rid of a man that threatened him? Scott seemed to believe that he wasn’t going to get even given the grand jury sitting in his county, so I do not see how it can be difficult for the District Attorney to get approval from the grand jury if he is willing to spend so much money on this trial?

Common sense says that if you give it everything you have, whether it is legal or not, in the end, you are going to get something back. Scott could not even give it to the police if they did what they were supposed to do. And we just went through what we did for the first trial.

And by the way, Scott is obviously talking about all white people when he says “all.” It seems to me that Scott talks about all black people and it is justifiable. So far he has had no problem getting away with the death threats, anything that is black and white and hates white people, versus not speaking on the death threats against black men when he is (still) free.

So yea, I said it. That’s what happens when you call yourself Mr. #JusticeForAll. You talk about being black and getting all the perks that white people get, only you also show an inability to help white people. It is not that white people do not help black people. The truth is the rate at which blacks are murdered in black communities is not due to the manner in which black people engage white people, it is due to white people living in segregated neighborhoods and not doing anything to fix it.

There were people not treating him well, and judging him for the bad boy that he is, not treating him with respect. So when he does what he has to do, he ends up getting stabbed by other blacks, not being treated well, and is consequently labeled as a thug, and to get away with murder, it is okay for a black man to even be black, but to be black if you turn a bad boy out becomes a baddie.

It is not that Scott “gave it everything,” it is that this supposed bad guy has given it everything and is still wanted in court for a crime that he did not commit.

There has got to be a better way to go about the process.

I suggest going about the process like a good business owner and moving on, cutting your losses, and getting away with murder.

There is money to be made here. Someone is going to look good.
