Isles beat Blue Jackets in OT, but Lightning edge Oilers

Nathan McIver returned to the Avalanche lineup after missing one game with a lower-body injury and the defenseman and Matt Duchene scored goals in the Avs’ 7-3 win over the Winnipeg Jets in Denver on Thursday night.

Hiller was sharp when needed, making 29 saves in regulation and six more in the shootout.

Avalanche center Mikko Rantanen had an opportunity to win it late in the third period, but he hit the post after taking a wrist shot from the slot that Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck robbed with a save.
