A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and governorship aspirant on the party platform, Prince Ebitimi Amgbare has said that the victory of APC and its candidate, Chief David Lyon at the just concluded governorship election will usher in the much needed federal presence in Bayelsa State.
Amgbare disclosed this at Ogobiri Town during an event to celebrate the victory of Chief David Lyon at the just concluded governorship election in the state.
According to him, the victory of APC in the state has again reaffirmed the fact that Bayelsa State has always alien itself with the government at the centre, noting that with Bayelsa joining the league of progressives state development and federal presence is a sure deal. He explained that the victory of David Lyon and the APC is a signpost of better thing to come, stressing that the incoming APC government is poised to attract federal government policies, programmes and projects to improve the living standatd of the people.
The APC chieftain stated that the federal government schools’feeding programme¬† will soon commence, as pupils would be made to benefit one free meal per day while in school with the attendant benefit to the caters of the food as well as the suppliers.
“Our victory is to say that, Bayelsa now is in the league of Progressives States. Our school children, the primary school children will now begin to enjoy one free meal per day.
“Going forward from the day David Lyon is sworn in, our children will start to enjoy one free meal whenever they go to school. Our women will be the once to prepare the meals and the farmers will be the once to supply everything that will be used to prepare those meals.
“So you can imagine the progress, you can imagine the prosperity that communities will enjoy when the APC government comes on board”.
The Ogobiri born politician however lamented the incidence that occur on the 16th of November, where the outgoing governor connived with some INEC officials to hijack electoral materials for meant for Ogobiri, ward 11 to his own Town, Turo- Orua in order to paint Ogobiri in bad light but thank God they were put to shame.
