The newly elected Chairman of the Bayelsa state chapter of the Butchers Association of Nigeria, Mr Emeka Ebuho, has promised to restore the lost glory of the Association for the good of all members and create a better working relationship with the government.
Ebuho gave the promise after he was elected as the new Chairman of the association recently in Yenagoa, the state capital.
He reiterated his commitment to change the face of the association to what it was known for in the past, and also attract benefits to members as is obtain in other states.
In a chat with newsmen after the election, Ebuho commended the National President for standing by them as a father during the period of crisis, adding that the Bayelsa State chapter will forever remain grateful for the fatherly role play in the amicable resolution of the crisis the engulf the association.
He said that his administration would operate an open door policy and ensure that every member is carried along, stating that he would not betray the confidence reposed in him.
“I commend the National President who has never abandoned us, and always treated us as father, we had crisis and we are through with that period. I assure everyone that I will build a better butcher and our support for government will not cease. We had crisis but that has become a thing of the past, we ran to the President as a people because the issues were bigger than us and he intervened.
“And since then we have seen changes, we are now one; there’s no division between us. We will work to ensure butchers enjoy like other states, even when I leave the office people will know that we did well, the chairman said.”
Also speaking the newly elected General Secretary, Mr Emmanuel Azunna, said the result of the election is a testament of hardwork, dedication and sacrifice by those who won and appreciated members for voting them to serve.
Azunna emphasized that in every association members must work together in order to move the body forward, insisting that a unity and togetherness is the Hallmark of success.
He noted that they had in time past attended several meeting before they hot this positive result, stating they are servant of the people, so they must work hard to make sure that the association is moved to greater heights.
