A political group, Senator Amange Support Group has felicitated with the Governor-elect, Chief David Lyon and his Deputy, Senator Biobarakumo Degi Eremienyo on their resounding victory at the just concluded governorship election in the state.
The Convener of the group, who is also an All Progressives Congress (APC) youth leader in Ogbia LGA, Comrade David Ikpokpo in statement in Yenagoa, described the victory as a demonstration of the people will to oust an unpupolar and underperforming government.
Ikpokpo expressed utmost confidence in the ability of Chief David Lyon to turn around the democratic fortunes of Bayelsans by putting smiles on the faces of the masses in bettering their living condition.
He appreciated the Minister of State, Petroleum and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Chief Timipre Sylva for his political gallantry, patriotism, dexterity and selfless sacrifice in the choice of David Lyon, whom he said is God fearing, humble and a compassionate leader who has been prepared for leadership at a time like this to salvage Bayelsans from underdevelopment and poverty.
The youth leader also used the medium to applauded the strategic role played by the minister in ensuring the victory of the APC at the poll, noting the Chief Sylva has once again demonstrated that the prosperity and progress of Bayelsans is dear to him.
He commended the state APC chairman, Mr. Jothan Amos and state Secretary, Alabo Martins for the leadership roles they played in steering the party to victory, stressing that they will be remembered by posterity for leading an opposition party to victory in a state the ruling party has held power since the inception of democracy.
He further commended Senator Barigha Amange, the voice of Niger Delta, Chief Robert Enogha, Hon. Maxwell Oko, Hon. Preye Oseke, Hon. Samuel Ogbuku, Hon. Ebiango Again, Prince Gabriel Jonah and King Iboro Ige Edaba for their doggedness, steadfastness, loyalty and tireless commitment to ensure the overwhelming victory of the APC.
Ikpokpo particularly commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for organising a free, fair and credible election in a state where previous elections have been characterized by violence, thuggery and killings.
He thanked the people of Bayelsa, APC party faithfuls and other gallant men and women from other political parties for joining forces to salvage the state from the hands of retrogressive forces that have held the state hostage for the past seven years.
