The Paramount ruler of Otuegwe1 community in Ogbia LGA of Bayelsa State, HIs Royal Highness, Chief Idege Onyeke Ideme (Egwe VII) has appreciated God for the victory at the High Court.

This is coming on the heels of his re instatement as the Paramount ruler of Otuegwe1 community by a High Court sitting in Yenagoa instituted by Chief Igonibo Ido and Chief Bello Markson.

Speaking with newsmen in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, HRH Ideme said it is only by the mercies of God he was able to achieve victory because of the level of gang and oppression by persons who are using the commonwealth of the community to fight against him.

He said it’s regretable that Chief Igonibo Ido and Bello Markson whom he helped to get a surveillance contract from SPDC are the ones who planned his suspension and dethronement as Paramount ruler of Otuegwe1.

According to HRH Ideme, trouble started on 31, December 2019 when Chief Igonibo Ido and Bello Markson petitioned him claiming that I have been suspended and issued an Interlocutory injunction restraining me from parading myself as the Paramount ruler of the community.

Explaining further, HRH said with the death of the former chairman of Otuegwe and Idugene Enterprise, a company owned by Otuegwe 1 community, one Chief Bello Markson claimed ownership of the community’s  company, but when myself and other community leaders resisted Chief Markson and his conspirators planned my removal as Paramount ruler.

Egwe VII also expressed gratitude to Justice Aseimor Adumien for the fatherly role played at bringing peace and for standing by the truth at ensuring that ascension to the stool is hereditary based and Hon. Gibson Munalayefa, member representing Ogbia Constituency 11 for the support as well as encouragement.

He noted that because of the chieftaincy dispute that lasted for almost 3 years Otuegwe 1 experienced under-development but however said with the judgment delivered in his favour, Otuegwe1 community will witness peace and massive development.

The Paramount ruler emphasized that the traditional stool of Otuegwe1 community is based on hereditary as against election, adding that his great great-grandfather was a King, his great grandfather was also a King, his grandfather was a King too.

The royal father appealled to the PDP led Prosperity Government which they have supported since the creation of Bayelsa State to consider Otuegwe1 community as it carries out development projects in the state especially the construction of a befitting health centre, construction concrete walkways, and also expedient the construct the road from Akaba community in Yenagoa LGA to Okodi in Ogbia LGA.

HRH Ideme also used the medium to advised the people of Otuegwe 1 as well as the youths to always do the right thing avoid causing crisis but rather engaged in meaningful venture, insisting that as youths they are to channel their energies to productive means instead of  depending on people’s money for survival.
